Bring A Trailer Highlights From October 2026

Bring a Trailer (BaT) is endlessly interesting to someone who follows eighties cars. To me, one of the best parts is seeing rarely seen or unusual vehicles. I’ve picked ten that stood out to me from October 2026, choosing one from each year of the eighties. All photos courtesy of Bring a Trailer.

1980 Volkswagen Scirocco, courtesy of Bring a Trailer

[Lot 267695] 1980 Volkswagen Scirocco hatchback coupe. Onyx Green Metallic (a Porsche color) with Black vinyl front bucket seats. EA827 117 bhp (estimated) 1.6 liter/97 ci inline four with fuel injection and a Callaway Stage 1 turbocharger kit, a five-speed manual, and an indicated 34,000 miles. This “day two” hotted-up Volkswagen sold for an impressive $27,500 on October 10th. I have written about the “civilian” version of the 1981 Scirocco.

1981 Cadillac Seville, courtesy of Bring a Trailer

[270106] 1981 Cadillac Seville sedan. Waxberry Yellow with Beige leather front seats. L62 145 bhp 6.0 liter/368 ci V8-6-4 with fuel injection, a three-speed automatic, and an indicated 57,000 miles. With its exterior body showing the vicissitudes of age, this Seville sold for $8,300 on October 23rd. I have written about the very similar 1980 Seville.

1982 Chevrolet El Camino, courtesy of Bring a Trailer

[266249] 1982 Chevrolet El Camino Royal Knight pickup truck. Light Brown Metallic with a Camel cloth front bench seat. LG4 150 bhp 5.0 liter/305 ci V8 with a four-barrel carburetor, a three-speed automatic, and an indicated 99,000 miles. With it’s “regal” hood decal, the Royal Knight was an appearance package variation of the Super Sport, which was … basically an appearance package. This largely unmolested El Camino (few are at this point) went for $8,000 on October 2nd. I have written about the last of the line 1987 El Camino.

1983 Toyota Camry, courtesy of Bring a Trailer

[266416] 1983 Toyota Camry LE sedan. Red Metallic over Beige Metallic two-tone with Brown two-tone cloth front bucket seats. 2S-ELC 92 bhp 2.0 liter/122 ci inline four with fuel injection, a four-speed automatic, and an indicated 34,000 miles. In the Camry launch colors, this well-cared-for sedan sold for $15,000 on October 3rd. I have blogged about this game-changing inaugural Camry—over 22 million have now been sold.

1984 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am interior, courtesy of BaT

[268775] 1984 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am 15th Anniversary hatchback coupe. White with Blue accents and Recaro White leather/Gray reclining cloth front bucket seats. L69 High Output 190 bhp 5.0 liter/305 ci V8 with a four-barrel carburetor, a four-speed automatic, and an indicated 50,000 miles. With specific details that still look sharp, this 15th Anniversary went for $16,000 on October 16th. I have written a blog post on the Trans Am 15th Anniversary.

1985 Nissan 300ZX, courtesy of Bring a Trailer

[270765] 1985 Nissan 300 ZX 2+2 hatchback coupe. Aspen Gold Metallic with Tan leather front bucket seats. VG30E 160 bhp 3.0 liter/185 ci V6 with fuel injection, a four-speed automatic, and an indicated 125,000 miles. With a six-inch longer wheelbase than the 2-seater, the 2+2 was also heavier and thus slower. Looking good for its mileage, this E31 Z-car sold for $7,600 on October 27th. I have written a post about the first-year 1984 300 ZX.

1986 Pontiac Parisienne, courtesy of Bring a Trailer

[270217] 1986 Pontiac Parisienne Brougham sedan. Medium Red Metallic over Dark Red Metallic two-tone with a Burgundy cloth 55/45 split front bench seat. LV2 140 bhp 5.0 liter/307 ci V8 with a four-barrel carburetor, a four-speed automatic, and an indicated 26,000 miles. This big Pontiac—wildly out of sync with the rest of the 1986 Pontiac product line—went for $7,286 on October 23rd. I wrote about the very similar 1983 Parisienne last year.

1987 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z, courtesy of Bring a Trailer

[267246] 1987 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z 20th Anniversary Commemorative Edition convertible. Dark Red Metallic with Saddle Custom Cloth reclining front bucket seats. LB9 Tuned Port Injection 215 bhp 5.0 liter/305 ci V8, a five-speed manual, and an indicated 26,000 miles. Third-generation Camaros are a dime a dozen on BaT (they’ve sold precisely 300), but 20th Anniversary examples are rare. This attractive and loaded (CD4, C60, G80, G92, J65, K34, N33, TT4, UX1, U21, U75, etc.) IROC-Z went for $23,250 on October 8th.

1988 Ferrari 328 GTS, courtesy of Bring a Trailer

[268861] 1988.5 Ferrari 328 GTS coupe. Blu Chiaro Metallizzato with Beige leather front bucket seats. Type F105 260 bhp 3.2 liter/194 ci V8 with Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection, a five-speed manual, and an indicated 32,000 miles. The color, of course, is what makes this 328 GTS more notable than most. This coupe with a complex title history sold for $128,000 on October 15th. I have written about the 308 Quattrovalvole, but not the 328.

1989 Chrysler New Yorker interior, courtesy of Bring a Trailer

[266159] 1989 Chrysler New Yorker Landau Mark Cross Edition sedan. Black Cherry Pearl Coat with a matching Landau padded vinyl roof and Bordeaux leather reclining 50/50 front seats. Mitsubishi 6G72 141 bhp 3.0 liter/182 ci V6 with fuel injection, a four-speed automatic, and an indicated 28,000 miles. This well-kept example sold for $8,800 on October 1st. I still haven’t written a blog post about any C-body Chrysler product.
