Flammang and Kowalke’s Standard Catalog of American Cars 1976-1999 is out of print, but indispensable to getting details correct in my blog entries on Eighties Cars. Almost every year and make includes both major options and their prices.

Flory’s American Cars 1973-1980 Every Model Year by Year is a wonderfully detailed year by year survey—I wish he would do another decade’s worth. Last year, he published American Light Trucks & Utility Vehicles, 1967–1989.
